Check out this interesting story about a new protection zone issued for the Southern Ocean Islands in the UK.  This zone will now protect seven threatened sea birds and ban fishing entirely in the area.

Southern Ocean gets protection zone

Hopefully, this act of marine conservation will continue to influence other areas with threatened species and over fishing.

Have a great day, everyone!

Here is an exciting story from one of our recent customers, Bob. He emailed our president, Durval Tavares, telling of his experience with the AquaLens. Read on and enjoy!
Hi Durval,  We lost one of our AUVs yesterday while doing software testing.  It had an acoustic pinger on it and we quickly localized it in about 10 feet of water.  We’ve occasionally had luck dragging the AUVs from our dinghy, but could not get this one after a few hours of poking around the location.

So, this morning I purchased an AquaLens, taped it to a paint pole (see below) and went out again to the localized position. We found the AUV using the camera, hooked it with the paint pole and pulled it to the surface.  That’s an expensive fish at our cost.  The AquaLens is a clever concept and worked perfectly for our application.

Good luck with the business,
Bob

Now that we are back in Fall River and not surrounded by perfect weather, diverse people or Miami’s entertaining atmosphere, we can reflect on our experience at the boat show!

Last week started off when our product, the HydroView, was entered into the Progressive® Insurance Miami International Boat Show and Sail Innovation Awards. We were very proud to be judged and although we weren’t the victor we’re pleased to have been acknowledged.

The rest of our experience at the show sailed smoothly. People’s eyes lit up as they gathered around booth L60 to grab brochures, test out the AquaLens in the tank or get up close and personal to the HydroView. Our test tank for the AquaLens housed ten goldfish complete with colorful plants to give visitors a feel of the underwater world–making their experience more exciting!

This show allowed us to meet some great people and showcase the AquaLens and HydroView into the boating world even more.

Thanks for stopping by to see us, everyone!

We recently came back from Florida and are very excited to share some awesome footage we took with the AquaLens in their beautiful, blue waters.

The clarity of the footage is outstanding and even the fish seem to enjoy the AquaLens! We hope you are as excited as we are to finally have a video that not only demonstrates what the AquaLens is capable of, but also how much fun it looks–because it was! You will be seeing some great footage of fish, an inspection of an anchor,  the underside of a boat and more.

Next week we will be showcasing the AquaLens and HydroView at the Miami Boat Show, Booth L60. Stop by and say hi!

Enjoy, everyone.
